As a Machine Shop Value Stream Manager, you will provide strategic leadership for a critical manufacturing operation supporting our Space and Defense Group. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality machined components that exceed customer expectations.

You will report to the Operations Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, Virginia.

To be considered for the Machine Shop Value Stream Manager, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, manufacturing, or business discipline

  • 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, operations, or a technical environment.

  • 7 years of direct supervision/leadership

  • Strong knowledge of machine shop operations, machining processes, and manufacturing best practices.

  • Experience leading Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, Kaizen, and waste reduction initiatives.

  • Proven ability to lead teams, drive change, and achieve operational results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with capacity planning, resource management, budgeting, and capital investment planning.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and other functional teams.

In the Machine Shop Value Stream Manager position, you will:

  • Lead the safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance of the Machine Shop Value Stream.

  • Develop and execute strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and overall operational performance.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through Lean principles and waste elimination.
