About Straub Collaborative

Straub Collaborative is a leading creative production studio specializing in high-volume eCommerce photography and visual content for global brands. Our teams operate in a fast-paced studio environment where creativity, technical precision, and collaboration drive the production of world-class imagery.

We are seeking an experienced Digital Technician to support on-model and product photography shoots in our New York City studio. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient capture workflows, image integrity, and seamless coordination between on-set production and post-production teams.

What You'll Do
  • Test, pack, deliver, set up, and calibrate equipment for photo and video shoots, including cameras, backs, interface and network cabling, production computers, color-accurate HD monitors, professional camera software, networking, color management, and other related professional equipment and software.
  • Recommend, create, and maintain an efficient and secure workflow based on individual client conditions, needs, and best practices.
  • Manage capture, edit, process, back up, and deliver digital images and videos on set.
  • Serve as a second eye to the photographer and/or videographer by regularly checking for focus and ensuring color consistency, color balance, exposure, and curves on all images.
  • Support the photographer with prepping and breaking down the set for the day.
  • Oversee Capture One on set; checking for proper ISO, camera format, ICC profile, and processing images according to studio and client standards.
  • Perform photographer or videographer duties as needed.
What You Bring

Experience & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of on-set experience as a Digital Tech or Photographer's Assistant, ideally in fashion or high-volume e-commerce.
  • Bachelor's degree in Photography, Fine Arts, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Capture One certification and familiarity with systems like ShotFlow are both a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex digital workflows in fast-paced production environments.

Technical Skills

  • Imaging: Mastery of professional digital camera systems (DSLR/Medium Format) and major lighting systems (Profoto, Broncolor, Arri).
  • Software: Expert-level proficiency in Capture One, Lightroom, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Video & Post: Proficiency in video capture and grading tools (Premiere, Final Cut, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve).
  • Systems & IT: Strong command of macOS, server management, RAID technology, and common productivity tools (MS Office, FileMaker, Smartsheet).
  • Output: Advanced knowledge of color management, RGB/CMYK workflows, and print production.
