Job description

Director of Product Innovation & Market Strategy

Location: Los Angeles, CA (100% Onsite)
 Compensation: $125,000-$200,000+ DOE
 Executive-Level Opportunity

Shape the Future of Premium Lighting Innovation

We're seeking an entrepreneurial product and market strategist to help define the next chapter of an innovative company developing proprietary lighting technologies for luxury residential, commercial, and experiential environments.

This is not a traditional product management role.

We're looking for someone who sees possibilities where others see products. Someone who can identify emerging markets, strategic partnerships, and new applications for breakthrough technology, then lead those ideas from concept through execution.

If you've ever thought, "Why isn't this technology being used here?" or "This product could transform an entirely different industry," this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

You'll work directly with executive leadership and have the autonomy to influence product direction, market strategy, and long-term business growth.

What You'll Do

  • Develop the long-term strategy for a portfolio of premium lighting and technology products.
  • Identify new industries, customer segments, and commercial applications for proprietary technologies.
  • Research emerging consumer, architectural, hospitality, luxury residential, and commercial market trends.
  • Build strategic partnerships with designers, architects, developers, manufacturers, technology partners, and industry organizations.
  • Evaluate new product concepts, market opportunities, and business cases.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and executive leadership to bring innovative ideas to market.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
  • Monitor competitive products, technologies, and market shifts to identify opportunities before competitors.
  • Help define product positioning, go-to-market strategy, and future product roadmap.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives from concept through commercialization.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in professionals who combine strategic thinking with real-world execution.

Ideal experience includes:

  • Product Strategy
  • Product Innovation
  • Market Strategy
  • Business Development
  • Product Commercialization
  • Consumer Insights
  • Strategic Partnerships
  • New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Product Marketing
  • Innovation Management

Preferred Industry Experience

Experience within one or more of the following industries is highly desirable:

  • Premium Decorative Lighting
  • Architectural Lighting
  • Luxury Residential Products
  • Smart Home Technology
  • Consumer Electronics
  • Interior Design Products
  • Building Technologies
  • Hospitality Design
  • Architectural Products
  • High-End Consumer Products
  • Luxury Lifestyle Brands

Ideal Background

You may currently hold titles such as:

  • Director of Product Strategy
  • Director of Product Innovation
  • Product Development Director
  • Product Development Manager
  • Innovation Manager
  • Director of Market Strategy
  • Strategic Partnerships Manager
  • Category Director
  • Senior Product Manager
  • Product Marketing Director

The Right Person

You are someone who:

  • Thinks strategically while executing tactically.
  • Naturally identifies opportunities others overlook.
  • Enjoys building new initiatives from the ground up.
  • Is energized by innovation and emerging technology.
  • Can influence executive leadership with well-supported ideas.
  • Loves collaborating across engineering, design, marketing, and sales.
  • Wants the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on a growing business.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $125,000-$200,000+ DOE
  • Bonus potential
  • Executive-level visibility
  • Significant autonomy and influence
  • Opportunity to shape the future direction of an innovative technology company
  • Long-term career growth

Why This Opportunity?

This is a rare opportunity to help define where breakthrough technology goes next. Rather than maintaining an existing product line, you'll have the freedom to identify new markets, forge strategic partnerships, influence product direction, and help build the future of a company that's focused on innovation over convention.

If you're ready to lead with ideas, drive meaningful growth, and make a lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you.
