Job Description: Strategy & Execution Advisor

 

Position Summary

The Advisor of Strategy & Execution is a high-impact leadership role designed to serve as the primary strategic partner to the Chief of Staff (CoS) and a force multiplier for the Office of the CEO. This individual is the key owner of Signal Energy’s Operating System, ensuring that the mechanics of governance, accountability, and metrics are functioning at peak efficiency. This position provides critical operational support to all functions in the office of the CEO, specifically focusing on internalizing reporting and project management capabilities to reduce reliance on external consultancies.

Key Activities

  • Governance & Compliance
    • DOA Framework: Manage the formal approval and change process for the Delegation of Authority (DOA) framework.
    • System Integration: Lead efforts to embed digital systems and workflows that monitor and enforce compliance with established decision matrices.
  • Accountability & Execution
    • Action Tracking: Manage the enterprise-wide action item tracker to ensure the organization remains disciplined in its execution of commitments.
    • Momentum Management: Identify and flag stalled initiatives, working with the CoS to remove execution bottlenecks.
  • Metrics & KPI Reporting
    • Data Collection: Manage the end-to-end system for collecting, validating, and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Performance Visibility: Ensure that the ELT has a clear, real-time view of the company’s health through accurate and timely data reporting.
  • Prime Directives & Alignment
    • Goal Connectivity: Manage and enforce the direct connectivity between department-level goals and the company’s Prime Directives.
    • Strategic Evolution: Assist the CoS in managing the evolution of Prime Directives over time to ensure they remain aligned with long-term growth.
  • Transformation Support (in collaboration with function)
    • Consultancy Transition: Drive the status reporting and oversight for various initiatives currently managed by external consultants.
    • Internal PMO: Step into project management roles for internal initiatives ensuring experts in the business are able to contribute while staying focused on core responsibilities
  • Corporate Development Support (in collaboration with Chief of Staff)
    • Due Diligence: Provide operational and analytical support during the due diligence phases of potential acquisitions.
    • Integration Support: Assist in post-merger integration (PMI) efforts to ensure new entities align with Signal Energy's operational standards.

Key Skillsets Required

  • An execution mindset: This role requires someone that can push work activities over finish lines and ruthlessly priorities efforts to maximize the impact of the OCEO
  • Anticipating needs: This role requires someone that can sit back and observe situations across the business and flag opportunities to drive improvements in the business. Listening is a critical requirement to the role.
  • Commitment: This role requires committing and buying-in on the direction of the business, embracing the many changes we need to work through as we grow, and the willingness and ability to propagate alignment against our company’s mission and vision across the organization
  • Flexibility: Given the amount of growth-related change we anticipate, we need this individual to be adapt as circumstances and objective change
  • Content Production: This individual will need to be able to generate memos, reports, and presentations to support messaging and analysis tied to the office of the CEO (e.g., advanced m365 capabilities of applications like Excel, PPT, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Growth Mindset: The person in this role needs to be able to quickly understand how our business works, and build skillsets that are relevant to the business's success
  • Influence without Authority: This individual needs to demonstrate emotional intelligence and the ability to direct individuals across the business without direct reporting lines
  • Data Integrity / Process Mapping: Ability to audit how data is captured at the department level and establish standardized collection methods to ensure enterprise reporting is flawless.

Qualifications

  • Required Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in high-growth operations, management consulting, and/or corporate strategy.
  • Technical Rigor: Proven track record of managing complex contracts, budgets, and data-driven reporting systems.
  • Communication: Outstanding verbal and written skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
