Position: Business Development Manager with Capital CFO+
Location: Capital Region, New York (Local Candidates Only)
Compensation: Hourly rate $35-$40/hour, and bonus structure available.
Schedule: Hourly or Contract, Open to both full-time and part-time candidates
About Capital CFO+
Capital CFO+ supports small and mid-sized businesses, nonprofit organizations, and growing companies by providing outsourced Accounting, Human Resources, Marketing, and strategic business consulting services. Our clients rely on us as trusted advisors, helping them build stronger organizations while allowing them to focus on their mission and growth.
As our company continues to expand, we are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead our sales and growth efforts throughout New York's Capital Region and beyond.
Position Summary
This is not an entry-level sales position. We are looking for an experienced business development professional with an established network and a proven history of generating new business. The ideal candidate is comfortable walking into a room of business owners, nonprofit executives, or community leaders and building meaningful relationships that lead to long-term partnerships.
You will serve as the face of Capital CFO+ in the community, representing our company at networking events, conferences, and chamber functions while developing opportunities across all of our service lines.
This position offers significant earning potential through an hourly rate combined with a bonus structure.
Accountability & Performance Expectations
This role operates within a structured accountability framework with clearly defined sales goals, performance expectations, and regular progress reviews. Candidates should be comfortable working in an accountability-driven environment that emphasizes measurable objectives, consistent follow-through, and personal ownership of performance and results.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a business development strategy focused on sustainable revenue growth.
  • Identify, prospect, and cultivate new client relationships throughout the Capital Region and surrounding markets.
  • Build relationships with business leaders, nonprofit executives, board members, and referral partners.
  • Attend networking events, chamber meetings, conferences, and community events as a representative of Capital CFO+.
  • Schedule and conduct introductory meetings with prospective clients.
  • Present Capital CFO+'s Accounting, Human Resources, and Marketing services to prospective clients.
  • Develop strategic referral partnerships with complementary service providers.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently follow up on opportunities.
  • Work closely with leadership to develop proposals and transition new clients into service.
  • Meet monthly business development activity and revenue goals.
  • Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful business development or business-to-business sales experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of growing revenue and developing long-term client relationships.
  • Experience selling professional services, consulting, or similar business solutions is strongly preferred.
  • An existing network within New York's Capital Region business community is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
  • Strong organizational and CRM management skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Requirements
  • Must reside within New York's Capital Region.
  • We offer a flexible schedule and remote work environment. Our ideal candidate must be available to attend networking events during business hours and occasional evenings.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Capital Region and surrounding counties.

To complete a full employment application,
Capital CFO + is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. We do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws.
We believe that diversity and inclusion strengthen our organization and are dedicated to creating an environment where all individuals are respected, valued, and empowered to contribute fully. All employment decisions are based on qualifications, merit, and business needs.
Flexible work from home options available.
Compensation: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
We seek to take the burden and over-whelm of your financials and back-end business tasks off your plate; offering you a sense of relief and time to focus your attention on building your business.
What Sets Us Apart
We are relationship-driven and focused on providing successful solutions for our clients. Transparency and efficiency are key values we hold true to in our work. We support, we lead and we provide. We work in your business, so that you can focus your attention on growing your business.
We reduce costs
Hiring and training full or part-time staff can be very expensive. Paying for an employee with benefits is costly. Many companies and nonprofits either do not need a full-time position OR need additional help that does not require an additional in-house employee. Working with Capital CFO+ lets you focus your human resources where you need them most.
We improve efficiency
When you have an expert working on a project, they will be faster, effective, and efficient. Working with Capital CFO+ gives owners and leaders an essential competitive advantage. By outsourcing activities that are routine, administrative, or require specialized skills, you can focus more on core functions and ensure that your company thrives and succeeds.
We level the playing field
Most small firms simply can't afford to match the in-house support services that larger companies maintain. Capital CFO+ helps small firms act "big" by giving them access to the same economies of scale, efficiency, and expertise that large companies enjoy.
Our Mission
We are here to be your business partner. From simplifying your finances, to priori-tizing your back-end needs, we listen to your objectives and work to put the pieces of your business together to form a solid foundation and a brand built for success.
  • Explaining your financials so they are straightforward and easy to understand.
  • Being transparent with our work and allowing you to be, too.
  • Being accurate and exact with our reporting and recordkeeping.
