Job description

FUSE3 is a Managed Service Provider serving small and mid-sized businesses across the Sacramento region. We solve real problems for real companies — and we've built a reputation on doing it with a family culture and a fast pace. We're growing, and we're looking for the person who will own how that growth happens.

Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager owns FUSE3's new-business engine. Where a rep sets appointments, you set the strategy: building and managing the outbound pipeline, developing relationships with C-level decision-makers, and carrying revenue targets from first conversation through closed agreement. You'll work directly with FUSE3's leadership team and shape how we go to market in the Sacramento region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full new-business pipeline — prospecting, qualification, discovery, proposal, and close — with monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
  • Develop and execute FUSE3's outbound strategy: target account selection, multi-channel campaigns (email, phone, onsite visits, events), and messaging that resonates with SMB executives.
  • Build trusted-advisor relationships with C-level decision-makers; lead first-stage and discovery conversations with prospect executives.
  • Develop and nurture referral and partnership channels (vendors, professional networks, community organizations) as a repeatable lead source.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline data in the CRM — leads, opportunities, forecasts, and activity — and report pipeline health to leadership.
  • Collaborate with marketing and the leadership team to refine positioning, campaigns, and the service catalog's go-to-market story based on what you hear in the field.
  • Represent FUSE3 at local business and networking events in the greater Sacramento area.
  • Re-engage lost opportunities and dormant prospect lists with structured win-back campaigns.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team and communicate effectively across service, sales, and client success.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of FUSE3's service catalog and how it maps to a prospect's business strategy and goals.
  • Regularly document sales processes and playbooks so what works becomes repeatable.
  • Enter time and expenses in ConnectWise as they occur.
  • Maintain certifications required for the position.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of B2B sales or business development experience with a demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Managed Service Provider or IT services industry experience strongly preferred; at minimum, the ability to comfortably discuss technology and how it drives business outcomes for SMBs.
  • Consultative selling skills — active listening, discovery questioning, objection handling, and executive-level communication.
  • Proficiency with CRM-driven pipeline management (ConnectWise, HubSpot, or similar).
  • Self-motivated and organized; able to run a territory with minimal supervision and adapt quickly to change.
  • Reliable transportation for client-facing travel during business hours in the Sacramento region.

The statements above describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package with a base salary of $80,000–$100,000 plus uncapped commission (on-target earnings of $130,000+), along with medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off (PTO), and a 401(k) plan, among other benefits.

If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you — apply today.
