Position Description:
CGI is seeking a highly capable Strategic Communications Lead to join the U.S. Strategic Operations team within the U.S. Commercial & State Government (U.S. CSG) Strategic Business Unit (SBU). This communications role sits at the intersection of strategy, operations, and change management, partnering with executive leadership to translate business strategy, operational priorities, and performance insights into clear, executive-ready messaging and high-quality presentation materials.
Partnering directly with the SBU President, the VP of Strategic Operations, and senior executives across the business, this role leads the development and production of strategic communication assets to convey complex initiatives, strategic priorities, and operational decisions with clarity, consistency, and impact. Operating in a highly visible environment, the role requires strong business acumen, contextual intelligence, and disciplined execution. The successful candidate will shape cohesive narratives and develop executive-ready materials, proactively leveraging AI tools to accelerate development, connecting leadership messaging across planning cycles, operational initiatives, and executive forums. Some travel is required to support leadership events.
CGI will consider candidates proximate to any US office with a preference for Charlotte NC, Miami FL, Atlanta GA, or Knoxville TN. CGI utilizes a hybrid model and partners should be prepared to work in a CGI or client office, as needed.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Strategic Narrative & Executive Communications
. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on messaging strategy and executive positioning.
. Develop and refine executive communications that articulate SBU strategy, operational priorities, and performance direction, translating complex business, financial, and market context into clear messaging tailored to varied audiences.
. Contribute to earnings related inputs and investor or analyst materials, ensuring alignment with broader enterprise performance narratives.
. Support asset development for the SBU President, Strategic Operations leadership, U.S. Executive Committee, Strategic Planning, Vice Presidents and Directors, and select leadership programs.
Operational Communications Support
. Support communications tied to Global Operations and Local Operations initiatives in partnership with program leadership.
. Contribute to content and messaging development for SBU-level leadership events as needed, supporting development of event materials and translating key messages into post-event communication assets that enable cascade across leadership and employee audiences.
. Partner with Strategic Operations leaders to align communications with business planning themes and organizational priorities.
. Maintain awareness of market, economic, and competitive dynamics to ensure messaging reflects current business realities.
. Serve as the content owner for internal SBU intranet pages related to strategic communications, ensuring content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with operational priorities.
Messaging Alignment & Collaboration
. Collaborate closely with Marketing Communications, including Talent Communications and Brand Management, for alignment with established standards, brand principles, and coordination of channel execution. Work across Strategic Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Corporate Services, and Business Units to gather inputs and validate messaging accuracy.
. Proactively maintain visibility into Strategic Operations priorities, planning cycles, and leadership initiatives to anticipate and support emerging communications needs.
. Develop executive-ready PowerPoint presentations aligned to established templates and brand standards.
. Apply rigorous quality assurance practices to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency in high-visibility environments, validating data accuracy and alignment across sources prior to executive distribution.
Responsible Use of Tools & Technology
. Leverage advanced AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) as core components of the communications workflow to accelerate drafting, synthesis, and refinement of executive-level materials.
. Apply strong judgment in shaping, validating, and elevating AI-generated outputs to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with business context.
. Utilize Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Illustrator, Photoshop) with moderate proficiency to support visual storytelling and enhance presentation quality as needed.
. Adhere to corporate standards for the responsible use of AI, ensuring compliance with data security, privacy, and confidentiality requirements in all applications.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
You are a highly capable professional with strong business acumen and the ability to quickly understand organizational context, strategy, and performance. You excel at translating complex ideas into clear, executive-ready messaging and thrive in environments that require clarity, precision, and discretion. You bring a modern, AI-native approach to communications, instinctively leveraging advanced tools to accelerate insight, enhance quality, and improve how work gets done.
. 5+ years of experience in strategic communications, strategic planning, chief of staff, change management, executive enablement, or a related field within a complex, matrixed organization.
. Alternatively, candidates with an AI-native approach are encouraged to apply, including early-career candidates from adjacent fields (e.g., business, organizational change management, human-centered design) who demonstrate advanced proficiency in AI-enabled content development and visual storytelling, along with strong learning agility, critical thinking, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex business environment.
. Demonstrated ability to effectively leverage AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) for content development, synthesis, and refinement, with strong editorial judgment.
. Moderate proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud tools (e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop) with the ability to support visual content development.
. Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy, operational context, and financial performance into clear, executive-ready messaging.
. Advanced PowerPoint skills with strong visual structuring and narrative design capabilities.
. Experience supporting senior executives or operating in high visibility environments.
. Exceptional writing, editing, and talking point development skills.
. Strong business acumen and high standards for accuracy and quality assurance.
. Ability to operate with discretion, sound judgment, and composure in fast-paced environments.
. Portfolio or work samples demonstrating AI-assisted communications, executive materials, or visual storytelling are strongly preferred.

Other Information:
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $58,000.00 - $156,700.00.
