Job description

Precision Well Servicing is currently hiring an Operations Manager to join our team. Precision Well Servicing is the largest service rig provider in Canada, with an impressive fleet of equipment, service rig professionals and strong relationships with top-tier companies.

The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day activities of all Field Superintendents by providing clear direction and support to Operations Leaders. The Operations Manager sets the tone and expectation in terms of safety and service delivery excellence. This role is responsible for Operational compliance of company processes, and policies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage operations in a manner that protects the health and safety of the public, employees and contractors, preserves and protects company assets, minimizes the impact on environment and follow applicable laws and regulations and company standards
  • Oversee all planning, organizing, and coordination of Well Servicing activity
  • Participate or lead investigations
  • Provide input and oversight to maintain capital & operating budget requirements
  • Ensure all Superintendents know and understand PWS policies and Government regulations
  • Demonstrate leadership through personal conduct
  • Coach, mentor and guide direct subordinates
  • Manage employee performance and development. Clearly communicate goals and objectives for employees.
  • Provide visible leadership through regular site visits, being involved in process confirmation while on site
  • Measure/audit operational performance and identify continuous improvement strategies
  • Manage the Field Operations in a cost-effective manner by maintaining optimum levels of productivity and efficiency under a strict budget
    • Give strategic direction and hands-on leadership to Field Supervisors and Rig Managers to drive competitive growth
    • Ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency through best practices
    • Plan, develop and implement effective staffing strategy and solutions to ensure Field Operations personnel has the right competency to perform their duties, well trained, able to multitask and grow with the company.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and drive customer loyalty
  • Seek new market opportunities for division
  • Manage and optimize the profitability of the division; ensure appropriate measures are taken to monitor and reduce costs in relation to field operations
    • Check and approve Downtime spend
    • Check and approve PWS field-Purchase Orders
    • PWS VISA Statement review and approvals
    • Approve/Decline ETS discrepancies as required
    • Monthly and Quarterly Financial reviews with Field Superintendents
  • Timely and accurate reporting, as requested

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related field is an asset

Experience

  • 5+ Years progressive supervisory skills
  • 10+ Years progressive service rig experience
  • Experience in Operations Management
  • Experience in multiple well environments (gas, oil, sweet, sour, deep, multi-zone, slant, horizontal etc)

Skills & Knowledge

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate with a strong understanding of Microsoft and Sharepoint
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
