Job description

Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions - to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes - large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We're building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.

The Role

We're looking for a Strategic Programs Lead to join the GTM Programs & Product Intelligence team within the Revenue organization.

In this role, you'll lead the planning and execution of Revenue's most important cross-functional initiatives-from launching new products and strategic partnerships to enabling new markets and delivering complex regulatory programs. You'll partner across Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Risk, Operations, and executive leadership to ensure our highest-priority initiatives are delivered successfully and the organization is ready to bring them to market.

This is a highly autonomous individual contributor role. Success comes from your ability to influence across organizations, bring structure to ambiguity, drive decisions, and keep complex programs moving forward.

You WillLead strategic cross-functional programs
  • Own end-to-end delivery of Revenue's highest-priority initiatives, from initial planning through launch and post-launch stabilization.
  • Develop integrated program plans that align Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Risk, Operations, and other stakeholders around a shared execution plan.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment, proactively identifying dependencies, risks, and decisions that could impact successful delivery.
  • Establish governance, operating cadences, executive reviews, and decision forums to keep initiatives on track.
Deliver successful product and partnership launches
  • Lead the commercial execution of new product launches, ensuring the Revenue organization is prepared to successfully bring new capabilities to market.
  • Serve as the program lead for strategic partnerships, coordinating technical, operational, legal, commercial, and go-to-market workstreams through launch.
  • Partner closely with Product throughout development to ensure launch plans align with product readiness and business objectives.
  • Coordinate operational readiness across customer-facing teams, including Sales, Account Management, Support, and Partnerships.
Build scalable operating mechanisms
  • Develop repeatable launch frameworks, playbooks, governance models, and operating processes that improve execution across future initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify cross-functional execution and reduce operational friction.
  • Create clear executive communications that enable rapid decision-making and provide visibility into program health.
You Have
  • 8+ years of experience leading complex cross-functional programs in strategy, operations, product, consulting, or go-to-market organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading major product launches, strategic partnerships, or enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Exceptional ability to influence and build alignment without direct authority.
  • Strong executive presence and experience communicating with senior leaders.
  • Outstanding organizational and program management skills with the ability to manage multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong commercial instincts and an understanding of how operational execution drives business outcomes.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and creating clarity in fast-moving environments.
  • Experience in payments, fintech, SaaS, or another highly regulated industry is preferred.
