The Strategic Account Manager has dual responsibility to be the primary point of contact for a select number of key customers and manage the relationship with assigned strategic accounts within the continental USA. In managing their assigned strategic accounts this person calls on the corporate headquarters of these customers or prospects, manages the overall relationship and business development strategy. The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for ensuring consistent formatting, pricing, scopes of work, terms / conditions on all quotations and contracts with the strategic accounts.

Summary:

The Strategic Account Manager has dual responsibility to be the primary point of contact for a select number of key customers and manage the relationship with assigned strategic accounts within the continental USA. The primary goal of this position is to increase revenue and customer satisfaction with assigned strategic account customers by developing and executing annual account plans. In managing their assigned strategic accounts this person calls on the corporate headquarters of these customers or prospects, manages the overall relationship and business development strategy. The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for ensuring consistent formatting, pricing, scopes of work, terms / conditions on all quotations and contracts with the strategic accounts. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage strategic accounts to increase market share, profitability, and revenues.
  • Prepares budgets, account plans, and succession plans for each assigned account.
  • Establishes relationships up and down the chain of command for each strategic account.
  • Meet or exceed assigned strategic account revenue goals.
  • Work closely with Sales Representatives, Regional Sales Managers, Branch Managers, Regional Vice Presidents, and Corporate Staff to support their strategic and regional account efforts.
  • Communicates account objectives for sales, and coordinates project scope of work, product and resource needs, timelines, and customer service to branch and corporate personnel.
  • Ensure accounts receivable for assigned accounts do not go past 90 days (≤8% over 90).
  • Assists in the development of marketing and training materials and contributes to development of the segment strategy including product development, brand positioning, pricing, and expansion.
  • Develop new sales opportunities using creativity and resourcefulness.
  • Actively leads the resolution of strategic account issues.
  • Prepare written monthly reports and weekly updates on account revenues and issues.
  • Increase visibility of the corporate strategic account program by attending regional meetings, sales presentations, conference calls, conferences, trade shows, conducting BB / TS and other interactive opportunities.
  • Promote the company value proposition including full service solutions.
  • Attends industry events for networking and continual professional development.
  • Manages travel and entertainment expenses within budget.
  • Handles high stress situations and communicates calmly, concisely and professionally.
  • Committed to exceeding customer expectations; is versatile and manages changing priorities.
  • Actively promotes the best practice of safety and environmental standards and behaviors.
  • Exhibit strong work ethic and negotiation skills.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the operation.
