Position Summary

The Spirit Store Associate supports the daily operations of the School's Spirit Store by providing excellent customer service, maintaining store organization, and assisting with sales and inventory management. This role contributes to a positive shopping experience for students, families, alumni, faculty, and visitors while supporting school events and community engagement initiatives. The position requires reliability, attention to detail, and flexibility to assist with various operational needs of the store. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Open and operate the Spirit Store during designated business hours.
  • Assist customers with purchases, product selection, and general inquiries.
  • Accurately process sales transactions using the School's point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and organization of the store.
  • Restock merchandise and assist with merchandising displays.
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and tracking inventory.
  • Participate in annual physical inventory counts.
  • Prepare and package customer orders for shipment or pickup.
  • Support special events, pop-up sales, evening events, and other school activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - Required

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate or learn retail POS systems.
  • Ability to lift and move boxes or merchandise as needed.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position primarily operates in a retail store environment within a school setting. Duties require standing for extended periods, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting or moving boxes and merchandise. Occasional evening or event-based work may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. 

Compensation and Schedule

  • This is a part-time, non-exempt position.
  • Pay Rate: $16.60 per hour
  • The expected schedule includes two days per week from 3:00 PM 6:00 PM
  • Overtime eligibility will be administered in accordance with applicable laws and school policy.

  • Provide courteous and professional customer service.
  • Maintain accurate sales transactions and inventory practices.
