Job Summary
To assist customers in finding merchandise and encouraging to purchase in a retail environment. As well as maintain a long-term relationship with customers, to represent the store in a positive manner and achieve sales goals while ensuring further business.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and determine their wants and needs
  • Recommend, select and help locate the right merchandise
  • Remain knowledgeable on products and discuss available options
  • Describe a product's features and demonstrate use
  • Help customers try on or fit merchandise
  • Answer customer queries regarding the store and the merchandise
  • Maintain in-stock and presentable condition in the store
  • Restock inventory
  • Stay up to date on all promotions and special offers
  • Open/close cash register and balance cash drawer
  • Receive and process cash, and charge/credit payments
  • Calculate discounts and special offers accurately
  • Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts, know how to prevent or handle these situations
  • Exchange merchandise for customers
  • Bag or package purchases, and wrap gifts
  • Clean shelves, counters, floors and tables
