Job description


Position Overview:
The Tournament Organizer is only responsible for, coordinating, and managing in-store gaming events to create engaging experiences for customers and the gaming community. This hands-on, customer-facing role ensures smooth event execution, from check-in to final standings, while maintaining a welcoming and organized environment. The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, and passionate about running events that bring players together.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Management & Customer Service

  • Manage tournament check-in stations, ensuring accurate registration and seating.

  • Facilitate tournament events from start to finish.

  • Greet guests and provide clear instructions for events.

  • Thank participants for attending and encouraging community engagement.

  • Organize and schedule events in alignment with store objectives and community interests.

  • Update event calendars, promotional materials, and in-store signage as needed.

  • Serve as a backup cashier when needed to assist with front counter operations.

Event Setup & Operations

  • Keep event areas clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.

  • Set up and break down tables, chairs, and other materials required for events.

  • Assist with other store duties as assigned by managers.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to stay calm and problem-solve during high-energy events.

  • Comfortable using basic technology for event management and calendar updates.

  • Team-oriented, reliable, and strong time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience organizing or judging gaming events or tournaments.

  • Familiarity with tournament software and TCG, board game, or tabletop gaming formats.

  • Previous retail or customer service experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods during events.

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. for event setup and breakdown.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Busy, event-driven retail and gaming environment.

  • Availability during evenings, weekends, and peak event times is required
