As the Hospice Vice President of Operations, you will provides strategic and operational leadership for all clinical, financial, and business performance within an assigned POD or Zone. This role ensures strong operational execution, quality outcomes, and financial health across the assigned geography by translating organizational strategies into local operating plans.
The VP leads agency level directors through goal setting, performance coaching, and structured accountability to strengthen operational capabilities and drive consistent execution. Working cross-functionally with senior leadership, Business Development, HR, and other corporate partners, the VP ensures quality, compliance, and operational efficiency while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Primary Responsibility:
  • Leads the development and execution of a comprehensive POD/Zone-level operational plan, identifying performance gaps, growth opportunities, and environmental factors affecting success
  • Translates organizational goals into measurable objectives for Agency leaders, ensuring clarity, alignment, and accountability
  • Drives operational, clinical, and business development performance by coaching leaders and holding them accountable for meeting volume, growth, quality, and efficiency targets
  • Achieves or exceeds financial targets, including operating margin and revenue-by optimizing operational processes and implementing corrective actions when needed
  • Partners with regional leadership and finance teams to support annual budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing financial management for the POD/Zone
  • Advances a culture of quality and continuous improvement, ensuring active engagement in performance analytics, action planning, and execution of improvement initiatives
  • Oversee POD/Zone budget monitoring and forecasting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with organizational objectives
  • Collaborates with Business Development to accelerate growth, assessing and operationalizing new opportunities within the POD/Zone
  • Executes timely talent decisions and partners with HR to ensure effective hiring, performance management, corrective action, talent reviews, and employee relations oversight
  • Conducts regular performance reviews with Agency leaders to assess operational, clinical, and business development metrics, mitigating risks and strengthening leadership capability
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory, policy, and payer requirements, including hospice, Medicare, Medicaid, and organizational standards
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of supervisory or administrative experience in hospice, home health, or related healthcare programs
  • Experience operating within a multi-site or multi-location structure, ideally with oversight of a POD, Zone, or similar operational unit
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of hospice/home health regulations, reimbursement, and operational standards
  • Proven skills in personnel leadership, operational management, and financial performance oversight
  • Solid critical-thinking and strategic-execution capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change and drive results
  • Ability to build collaborative, trusting relationships and communicate effectively across all levels
  • Demonstrated leadership behaviors that motivate, engage, and inspire teams
  • Driver's License and access to reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensed clinician (RN, PT, OT, ST) or physician background

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $116,064 - $174,096 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
