Buddy’s Home Furnishings is the third-largest Rent-To-Own (RTO) retail provider of furniture, appliances, electronics, and computers in the United States. Over the past five years, we have expanded aggressively, adding new company-owned and franchised stores nationwide.Come join our growing team!Benefits include:* Salary: $17.00 to $23.00 per hour* Paid Time Off* Closed on Sundays** Discounts* Health & Retirement benefits (vary depending on location)Role Summary:A General Manager In Training (GMIT)is promoted or brought into the organization with the sole intent of being trained and prepared for a future management role within the company. This role differs from the MIT role as this individual is expected to obtain the proficiency to run a store location within 120-180 days.Training will be provided, and you will be cross trained in all aspects of the role.* This is an in-person job and only available physically at the specified location.* You must be over the age of 21 to be considered for this position.Principal Responsibilities:* Acquire and Maintain Customers* Compliance with all applicable federal, state and local statutes* Decipher, prepare and review financial statements and store reports* Ensure adequate availability of merchandise at all times* Fill out paperwork for submission to corporate support* Follow monthly marketing plans* Implement sales and marketing programs* Maintain company vehicles within safe operating standards* Managing inventory and cash assets* Meeting company standards for quality, customer service and safety* Meet and exceed target sales and revenue goals* Implementing marketing and growth plans* Prepare daily work schedules, assign tasks, evaluate employee performance; discipline, enforce company policy and terminate when appropriate* Provide a safe, clean environment for customers and associates* Recruit, hire, and train to ensure efficient operations* Set goals and conduct weekly staff meetings* Store Management* Train and develop associates

Requirements/Responsibilities
General Manager in Training Requirements:* Any combination of education and experience providing the necessary skills and knowledge are acceptable. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:* Associate or Bachelor’s degree with course work in business, accounting, marketing or management.* Two years’ experience in retail or other business emphasizing customer service, account management or merchandising.* Must be over the age of 21 to drive a vehicle for work (insurance requirement)Physical Requirements:* Routine lifting, loading, and moving of merchandise (50-300 pounds) using a dolly* Stooping, bending, pulling, reaching, and grabbing* Ability to traverse multiple flights of stairs while carrying furniture, appliances, and electronics* Prolonged periods of driving and standing* Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor climates and weather conditionsAdditional Information:* Buddy’s Home Furnishings is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug-Free Workplace.* A detailed background check, including driving history and drug screening, is required.
