Job description

TITLE:  Controller – Luxury Automotive (Porsche & Infiniti)

REPORTS TO:  CFO

Position, Scope and Purpose:

The Controller is responsible for ensuring the fair and accurate presentation of the dealership group’s financial statements while maintaining strong internal controls and full compliance with manufacturer, lender, and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical leadership function, safeguarding dealership assets and overseeing all accounting and financial operations across two luxury-brand stores.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee daily bank deposits, ACH/Wires, and reconcile all bank accounts.
  • Post/review monthly standard entries and maintain accurate fixed asset schedules.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end close and financial statement submission to OEM and Management.
  • Maintain all accounting schedules and account reconciliations (bank, floorplan, finance reserves, AP, etc.).
  • Oversee accurate daily posting of sales, service, parts, and inventory transactions.
  • Ensure title work and vehicle inventory stocking are completed promptly.
  • Monitor CIT, vehicle receivables, rebates, warranties, GAP, and other F&I product schedules.
  • Manage AP to ensure checks are issued by the 15th each month.
  • Review WIP and parts tickets for timely closure; monitor physical inventories.
  • Provide weekly reporting and support to department managers; assist with budgets.
  • Lead accounting staff and improve office workflow and efficiency.
  • Coordinate timely tax filings (sales tax, tire tax, property, etc.).
  • Ensure monthly AR statements and collections are handled promptly.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Controller or office manager in the Automotive Industry
  • Prior experience with the CDK DMS system including PayCom is preferred
