We're seeking a future team member for the role of Mainframe Storage Engineer to join our TSG Mainframe Services team. This role is in Nashville, Pittsburgh and Lake Mary,

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Work with the team on Mainframe Storage software and hardware products and provide insights on Integrated Catalog Facility related projects.
  • Planning, installing, and providing support of DS8000 Disk series, including provisioning, SKLM setup and function for Data Encryption, Ficon port layout connectivity, and IBM Global Mirror/Metro Mirror.
  • Good Knowledge on TS7700 and Grid Replication.
  • Utilizing IBM, CSM, and GDPS replication software, and the network connective for DASD Replication to remote sites.
  • Troubleshooting and monitoring Mainframe storage utilizing CA-Vantage, SMF records, SAS, Dcollect, and SanNav.
  • Creating reports and analyzing data to create Capacity Models for future Disk and Tape requirement and racking of DASD growth trends.
  • Configuring and supporting Brocade Gen7 Ficon switches, SanNav, and Brocade 7840s for replication to remote sites for DASD and Tape.
  • Researching and implementing new Storage products including IBM Safe Guarded Copy, Transparent Cloud Tiering, Extended Addressability Volumes, and Thin Provisioning.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS - bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field. - Advanced certifications in infrastructure engineering or related disciplines preferred. EXPERIENCE - Typically 5-7 years of experience.
  • Proficient with DFSMS and DFHSM.
