Job description

Opportunity Overview:

Energy Storage Engineer in Juno Beach, FL or you can work remotely, and we require you to travel 25% of the time for project-specific responsibilities.

You will also have the responsibility of planning, designing, and implementing multiple aspects of energy storage projects. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope, engineering oversight and consulting across teams to deliver an excellent product. You embody a blend of technical expertise with project management skills and have relevant experience the energy storage field.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Support design phase and engineer major components for large-scale energy storage projects.
  • Recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and work toward better design quality and efficiency.
  • Resolve errors in engineering studies and suggest future solutions.
  • Prepare technical scopes of work for contracts.
  • Support projects from beginning to completion by working with project managers.
  • Influence project teams on engineering tasks.
  • Stay updated on project progress and technical issues.
  • Manage project milestones and recognize risks.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to integrate major equipment.
  • Work with diverse teams, improve opportunities, and integrate systems and controls.
  • Understand specifications for major equipment purchasing, ensure, and propose solutions.
  • Understand permitting requirements, propose solutions to legal challenges, and recommend site design improvements.
  • Handle other assigned responsibilities.
  • Travel 25% of the time for project specific responsibilities.

Who You Are:

  • 15+ Years experience Solar/PV Engineering and/or Construction.
  • Expertise in one or more of these areas: Power electronics, Battery storage system design, Substation design, Generation tie design.
  • Familiarity with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters.
  • Familiarity with lithium-ion battery storage safety standards (UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections).
  • Familiarity with IEC 61215, 61646, 61730.
  • Handle specialized technical tasks.
