SUMMARY: The Infant-Toddler Teacher is responsible for the daily supervision and safety and well-being of the children at all times; being alert for the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group.
Knowledge/Expertise/Qualifications
Knowledge of early childhood education practices, teaching tools and equipment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and maintain a positive and pleasant atmosphere.
Ability to relate to children and adults.
General Duties
Maintain program goals and objectives of the Center.
· Must be 18 years of age or older
· Must pass a criminal background check
· Have experience working in an accredited facility (preferred)
· Have, or in pursuit of, an Associates or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education or a related field. In the process of obtaining or holds a CDA. (preferred)
· The ability to meet state and accreditation requirements for education and experience
· References that can attest to work ethic and early childhood experience

Founded in 1986, Hope House STL is a 50-unit supportive housing program for homeless women with preschool children. Located in a residential neighborhood in northwest St. Louis City, Hope House STL is a 32,000 square foot complex consisting of 50 housing units, administrative offices, an on-site Child Development Center, and a multi-purpose Family Learning Center. A small food pantry is maintained for families entering the program and may need food on an emergency basis.
