Job description

Progress Printing Company is seeking candidates to fill a second shift maintenance technician position.
The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain production and facility equipment. The ideal candidate will provide general maintenance services throughout the facility with an emphasis on mechanical maintenance and electrical controls on printing-related equipment. Specifically sheetfed and web presses, with UV coaters, dryers, chill systems, and blanket washers. As well as finishing equipment: binders, folders, die cutters, stitchers, poly wrappers, stackers, and building control systems.
Abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to mechanical skills such as mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, wiring of motors for 208, 230, and 480 VAC and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and DC drives, reading and interpreting equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, repair and maintenance on bearings, drive chains, conveyor systems, machines, equipment and plant facilities. Proficient use of a variety of hand and power tools, drill presses, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Knowledge, Skills for this position include working knowledge of motors, drives AC & DC, mechanical equipment, facilities maintenance and basic plumbing, excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills, able to troubleshoot mechanical motors, gear boxes, drive trains, troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, inverters, VFDs, DC drives and electrical and electronic systems.
Required Qualifications are a minimum of 4 years of industrial maintenance experience in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting of industrial/manufacturing equipment. Experience in a printing manufacturing environment a plus.
Candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for 8 - 12 hours, and have good vision (corrected or uncorrected) with the ability to distinguish colors. The person hired must be able to work overtime when needed and work permanently on a second shift.. Prior printing experience preferred.
