Position Description
As a Class C Steel Erector, you will be responsible for assisting with the assembly and installation of pre-engineered metal building systems under the supervision of senior erectors or foreman. This position requires some general construction experience and minimal experience in steel erection. This role involves safely navigating active construction sites, working with a variety of tools and equipment, and working as a part of a crew to complete metal building system installations in accordance with company standards and safety procedures.
  • Assist in the assembly and installation of pre-engineered metal building systems, including structural framing, wall panels, and roof components.
  • Identify, handle, and safely operate tools, equipment, and materials used in steel erection and metal building installation.
  • Support senior erectors and crew members with layout, alignment, and connection of building components.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations while performing job duties.
  • Help prepare job sites, organize materials, and maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Participate in rigging operations and guide loads during crane or equipment lifts under supervision.
  • Perform general labor tasks including bolting, fastening, sealing, and assisting with sheet metal work.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and report unsafe conditions to supervisors.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient project progress and quality workmanship.

Position Requirements
Education and/or Work Experience:
  • Some experience in general construction required.
  • Minimal experience in steel erection or metal building systems preferred.
  • Basic understanding of construction safety procedures and site awareness.

Physical Requirements:
  • Position may involve standing, climbing, bending, reaching, kneeling, and working at heights based on job demand.
  • Work may involve occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work is primarily performed outdoors with varying weather conditions, elevated work surfaces, noise, and construction related hazards.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and harness as appropriate.
