Job description

Project Manager – Steel Erection / Ironwork

Direct Hire Opportunity with Superior Skilled Trades

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background in steel erection, structural steel, ironwork, or related construction for a full-time direct hire opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Manage structural steel/ironwork projects from preconstruction through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and milestones.
  • Monitor project costs and proactively address potential overruns.
  • Coordinate with Preconstruction, Estimating, General Superintendents, field teams, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Identify and resolve field issues, scheduling conflicts, and project delays.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to project team members.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
  • Maintain clear communication with internal teams, customers, and project stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • 10–15 years of project management and/or steel erection/ironwork experience.
  • Strong background in structural steel, steel erection, ironwork, or commercial/industrial construction.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, field operations, and teams.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work closely with field personnel, superintendents, estimators, and vendors.
