Located in eastern Ohio, Salt Fork State Park encompasses a stunning landscape featuring forested hills, open meadows, and misty valleys decorated with winding streams. We're looking for an experienced Sales & Catering Manager to join our team of dedicated meeting planners. We offer more than 6,500 square feet of flexible group meeting space and seven function rooms offering ample opportunity for group gatherings, catering, and team-building activities.
You will be directly responsible for managing all sales aspects of group events including but not limited to corporate events, family reunions, church groups, social events, day meetings, weddings, etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Prefer 4-year degree and 2 years event planning, catering & hotel sales experience.
- Must be well organized, detail orientated, handle multiple events, have exceptional telephone etiquette and have outstanding customer service skills
- Exhibits excellent listening and negotiation skills and the ability to ask open ended questions
- Experience on StayNtouch, Front Desk system, and Delphi, Sales System or similar systems preferred
- Must have proven communication skills both written and oral
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required
- Must remain flexible with schedule to accommodate business needs
- Must be able to perform tasks in a safe manner and adhere to company policies and procedures
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Handle group inquiries via email or phone call
- Meets with coordinator or meeting planners in a professional and timely manner
- Provides potential clients with necessary collateral and proposals if requested
- Handles client requests and provides superior customer service
- Handles incoming sales inquiries for space and rooms efficiently and professionally
- Responds quickly and efficiently to walk in business and schedules appointments to coincide with business needs
- Blocks sleeping rooms in StayNtouch and Delphi software systems
- Assures blocking of event space, appropriate guest room to meeting space ratio
- Determines, based on revenue management strategies and properties limitations, if that group event is a good piece of business for the property
- Logs all activities with applicable notes in Delhi for incoming calls and booked groups; maintains daily updates and internal correspondence in the same program
- Monitors receipt of signed contracts and deposit; enforces cut off dates for all events
- Maintains accurate and professional working and master files for all accounts
- Creates and distributes Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to client and hotel staff
- Practices regular use of Outlook email for company reports, correspondence with client needs and scheduling meetings or appointments
- Works closely with banquet manager, executive chef, dining room/lounge manager, and other managers/supervisors to ensure that all requested needs are fulfilled
- Attends the start of events to ensure set-up is complete and all is running smoothly
- Achieves prospecting goals, outside sales may be required
- Participate in the Sales Revolution calls, bi-weekly and Revenue Management discussions regarding leisure and group specials and promotions
- Updates weekly catering forecast reports & various month end reports
- Cross sell Salt Fork Golf Course & Sugar Tree Marina Rentals
- Participate in property meetings and employee functions as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned
