Job description

The Ed Napleton Automotive Group is looking for our next Traveling Paint Specialist located at Napleton's Wyoming Valley Body Shop, the Paint Specialist is responsible for operating a mobile trailer performing solvent-based painting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely.
  • Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations.
  • Ability to match and tint paint as needed
  • Monitor and maintain paint shop inventory
  • Keep mixing room clean and organized
  • Ability to wet sand and buff as needed
  • Ensuring that hand tools are properly maintained
  • Properly maintaining paint booth by replacing filters, and cleaning when necessary
  • Administering the mix of colors and ensuring that they match with original color
  • Applying primers and repainting surfaces with the use of spray guns
  • Polishing the car by wet-sanding and buffing when the paint is dried
  • Ensuring that certain portions of the vehicle are masked with tape and paper to ensure that each part of the car is painted correctly when using multiple colors.
  • Read, write and comprehend estimates and verbal directives from management.

Job Requirements:

  • Painting experience is required, preferably with solvent based systems and with mixing paints
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals- required
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume- required
  • Valid Driver's License- required
  • A minimum of 18 years of age- required

Work Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and explosives; frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
