Job description

Job Title: Marine Painting and Finishing Technician
Location: Holland, MI
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm — no mandatory weekends

What You’ll Do:

  • Apply gelcoat, varnish, or other protective and aesthetic coatings using spray guns and other equipment
  • Prepare surfaces through sanding, cleaning, and masking to ensure ideal conditions for finishing
  • Inspect and blend finishes to ensure even color, texture, and coverage
  • Buff and polish surfaces to achieve a smooth, high-gloss final result
  • Mix materials and adjust spray equipment settings to meet quality standards
  • Follow all safety protocols when handling chemicals, PPE, and ventilation
  • Maintain tools and workspace for consistent quality and cleanliness

What It Takes:

  • Experience with spray equipment, buffers, and other finishing tools
  • Ability to identify surface flaws and make fine adjustments for best results
  • Steady hand, attention to detail, and pride in delivering a perfect finish
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Familiarity with gelcoat, paint, or similar coatings in marine or automotive environments preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to support smooth production flow
