Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, client-focused Insurance Producer / Sales professional to join our team. This role is responsible for developing new business, advising clients on appropriate insurance solutions, and building long-term relationships through a consultative sales approach.

The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of insurance products, excellent communication skills, and the ability to uncover client needs while delivering tailored coverage solutions.


Key Responsibilities

Client Advisory & Sales

         Consult with prospective and existing clients to assess insurance needs, risk exposures, and coverage gaps

         Recommend appropriate insurance products and coverage solutions across personal, commercial, and/or life & health lines (based on licensing)

  • Educate clients on policy features, exclusions, and coverage terms in a clear and professional manner
  • Generate new business through referrals, networking, renewals, and proactive outreach
  • Meet or exceed individual and agency production goals

Account Management & Retention

         Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships through ongoing communication and policy reviews

         Assist clients with policy changes, endorsements, renewals, and coverage updates

  • Support retention efforts by providing timely follow-up and proactive service
  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities when appropriate

Carrier & Underwriting Coordination

         Work closely with insurance carriers and underwriters to obtain quotes and negotiate pricing and coverage terms

         Prepare and submit accurate applications and support documentation

  • Stay informed on carrier appetite, underwriting guidelines, and market trends

Compliance & Administrative Duties

         Ensure all policies and transactions comply with state regulations and agency procedures

         Maintain accurate client records in the agency management system (AMS) or CRM

  • Assist clients with claims guidance and documentation as needed
  • Maintain required licenses, continuing education, and certifications

Qualifications

Experience

         3+ years of experience in insurance sales, production, or advisory roles
(additional experience strongly preferred and considered for higher compensation)

         Demonstrated ability to close business and manage a sales pipeline

  • Strong working knowledge of insurance products and risk management principles

Education

         Bachelor's degree is preferred in Business, Finance, Marketing, Risk Management & Insurance, or a related field

         Equivalent insurance industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

Licensing & Certifications

         Active state insurance license (Property & Casualty and/or Life & Health, as applicable)

         Professional designations such as CIC, CPCU, CRM, or LUTCF are a plus

Skills & Competencies

         Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills

         Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and accountability
  • Ability to manage multiple prospects and clients efficiently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and insurance agency software

Compensation & Benefits

         Base salary starting at $65,000+, with higher pay based on experience
