JOB SUMMARY

The Facilities & Fleet Specialist covers cleaning facilities, managing trash, and scheduling transportation: Starpoint Day Program upkeep and cleaning, administrative area cleaning, and Transportation coordination.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Starpoint (Day Program):

  • Restrooms 5 single, 2 communal - Disinfect toilets, urinals, sinks, counters, mirrors, handles, switches; mop floors; clean showers; restock supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper).
  • Break room - Wipe and sanitize countertops, sink, refrigerator exterior, microwave, vending machines; refill soap and paper towels; mop floor.
  • Office areas - Empty trash; mop floors; wipe down window ledge, doorknobs & switches.
  • Conference Room - Empty trash; mop floor; wipes down window ledge, tables, doorknobs & switches.
  • Hallways/Lobby - Empty trash; mop floors; clean all glass; door handles & switches; dust baseboards.
  • All other areas - Empty trash; sweep and mop floors; wipe down window ledges, tables, furniture, doorknobs and switches.
  • Specialists will take all trash to the dumpster daily.

Administrative:

  • Restrooms 4 single, 4 communal - Disinfect toilets, urinals, sinks, counters, mirrors, handles, switches; mop floors; restock supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper).
  • Break room - Wipe and sanitize countertops, sink, refrigerator exterior, ice/water dispenser, microwave, stove, vending machines; refill soap and paper towels; mop floor.
  • Office areas - Empty trash; vacuum floors; wipe down doorknobs & switches.
  • Conference Rooms - Empty trash; vacuum floors; wipe down tables, doorknobs & switches.
  • Training Room - Empty trash; sweep and mop floors; wipe down tables, doorknobs and switches
  • Hallways/Lobby - Empty trash; vacuum floors; mop vestibule; clean all glass; wipe down tables, door handles & switches; dust baseboards.

Transportation Scheduler Responsibilities

  • Coordinate transportation requests for field trips, outings or events.
  • When driving RSLI vehicles, track mileage, fuel use, and maintenance.
  • Communicate route changes or delays directly to drivers and staff.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems with competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and/or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets); efficient in managing email and Google Calendar; skilled in basic data entry and organizing digital files
  • Ability to understand and apply operating policies and licensing and certification standards.
  • Ability to demonstrate good housekeeping habits.
  • Attention to detail in their daily responsibilities.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and direction.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk and/or hear.
  • The employee is required to have the ability to stand on their feet for extended periods of time reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, bend, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials; must work in stressful and hectic environments.
  • Requires the ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions at times.
  • Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
  • Requires physical and emotional endurance; must be able to work irregular hours at times; and requires regular and consistent attendance and physical presence at the job.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years of age or older required.
  • Must hold a valid NC driver's license and be deemed an acceptable driver by RSL insurance carrier.
  • Experience with household appliances, office equipment, Hoyer lifts, van lifts, and adaptive devices such as wheelchairs and scooters.
  • Experience working around people who have developmental disabilities or working in an intensive behavior, psychiatric, nursing home or childcare setting.
  • Must have own transportation for travel on RSL business.
