Job description

Stansell is seeking a talented Estimator to join our team!


Stansell is a rapidly growing, WBE certified, general contractor specializing in commercial construction services across the Southeast United States. We focus on serving clients in the commercial market with emphasis on the following project types: restaurant dining and quick service food.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for QSR ground-up and remodel projects, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and brand standards to fully understand project scope and requirements.
  • Solicit bids from qualified subcontractors and vendors; evaluate pricing for scope alignment, coverage, and compliance with project documents.
  • Analyze subcontractor bids to identify scope gaps, overlaps, exclusions, and value opportunities.
  • Develop scope comparison sheets and bid leveling documentation to support estimate review and award decisions.
  • Coordinate with the Estimating Manager and Project Managers to clarify assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, and risk items.
  • Assist in preparing bid proposals, budgets, and clarifications for client submission.
  • Support change order pricing and scope evaluation as needed during preconstruction and early project phases.
  • Maintain organized estimating files, documentation, and historical cost data for future benchmarking.
  • Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting aggressive bid schedules and deadlines.
  • Participate in internal estimate reviews and preconstruction meetings as needed.
  • Assist the Estimating Manager with tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in construction estimating, preconstruction, or project management support.
  • Working knowledge of subcontractor bidding, scope review, and construction documents.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize and analyze large volumes of bid data.
  • Proficiency in estimating software, Excel, and standard construction cost codes.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and trade partners.
