Join our team as a Engineer Test at our new research and development facility in the Phoenix, AZ area. The facility will serve as a satellite of our Product Development Center in Wauwatosa, WI.

Job Summary

The Vehicle Dynamics & Controls (VDC) Test Engineer will be responsible for executing on track and laboratory development testing at the H-D Arizona Test Center. This role ensures all testing is conducted safely, professionally, and in alignment with the quality and timing expectations of the Harley-Davidson development community.

The engineer will coordinate and support on-track testing focused on stability, handling, ride quality, and ECC. Additionally, the role includes overseeing developmental laboratory testing to quantify key vehicle characteristics using established fixtures and methodologies. The engineer will coordinate mechanic resources and collaborate closely with other VDC engineers to ensure all testing-related development milestones are achieved safely, professionally, and on schedule.

Job Responsibilities
  • Execute and process vehicle stability testing using standardized procedures and tools
  • Conduct and analyze laboratory testing to quantify key vehicle attributes using established methods and equipment
  • Support and facilitate development testing during VDC test trips
  • Coordinate and oversee mechanic resources required to support all vehicle testing activities
  • Coordinate test site track usage with other testing stakeholders
  • Maintain and continuously improve standardized test procedures to enhance development efficiency and expand team technical capabilities
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders through information sharing, inquiry, and confirmation of understanding
  • Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of engineering calculations and data analysis

Experience Requirements

Required

  • Typically requires 3-5 years of full vehicle testing experience

Preferred:

    • Motorcycle test experience
    • Data analysis experience using MATLAB, Glyphworks and/or Infield
    • Valid motorcycle license

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
