Job Opportunity: Distribution Engineer

FindTalent is seeking a qualified Distribution Engineer on behalf of our client. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of overhead and underground distribution systems. The position is available in multiple office locations, providing flexibility and growth potential.

Role Overview: As a Distribution Engineer, you will play a vital role in the conceptual, preliminary, and final design of distribution facilities operating at voltages ranging from 4.16 kV to 34.5 kV. The focus of this role includes urban and rural distribution system design, requiring expertise in both overhead and underground systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize PLS-CADD, Stakeout, or other distribution design software for overhead distribution system design.

  • Prepare detailed staking sheets and related design documents.

  • Develop overhead line designs using client-specific standards and RUS pole-top assemblies.

  • Assemble comprehensive bid packages for overhead line construction projects.

  • Design and implement underground distribution systems.

  • Ensure compliance with NESC and other relevant codes in all designs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in distribution line design, or a combination of relevant education and experience.

  • Proficiency in technical design, plan and profile creation, staking sheets, and preparation of contracts and specifications.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and writing skills, with the ability to interface effectively with clients.
