Job description

We are seeking a skilled Stainless Steel TIG Welder experienced in welding thin gauge material. This role requires a high level of precision, attention to detail, and the ability to produce clean, high-quality welds with minimal distortion.

Ideal candidates will have experience working with stainless steel in industries such as food-grade manufacturing, piping, fabrication, or sheet metal environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on thin gauge stainless steel
  • Weld materials ranging typically from 16 gauge to 22 gauge (or thinner)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions
  • Ensure clean, smooth, and sanitary welds (especially for food-grade or visible products)
  • Maintain proper heat control to prevent warping or burn-through
  • Grind, polish, and finish welds as required
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • TIG welding experience on stainless steel
  • Experience welding thin material (sheet metal or light gauge)
  • Ability to produce cosmetic/clean welds (important for stainless)
  • Familiarity with purging/back-gassing (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to read tape measure, blueprints, and weld symbols
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Physical Requirements
