Okta secures AI by building the trusted, neutral infrastructure that enables organizations to safely embrace this new era. This work requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes. We are looking for builders and owners who operate with speed and urgency and execute with excellence.
This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk.
Okta is looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager to join our Product Engineering team. In this role, you will partner with leaders from Engineering, Product Management, and Design to bring our next generation of security solutions to market. Our teams work with a customer-first mindset, emphasizing rapid iteration, a high degree of ownership, and data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
Role Overview

You will align team execution with strategic objectives and foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and technical innovation across the organization.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Strategy & Execution

  • Lead the execution of multi-team technical programs, ensuring alignment across cross-functional groups and delivering results against shared multi-quarter objectives.
  • Extensively navigate interdependencies affecting complex programs, including product/engineering alignment and change management.
  • Take a hands-on, proactive approach to manage dependencies, unblock progress, define timelines, and provide workflow solutions.
Risk Management & Transparency
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks by maintaining close involvement with team goals and challenges, applying past experience to the "big picture."
  • Provide structured communication and updates to senior leadership on status, risks, and delivery progress.
  • Drive effective teamwork and commitment across disparate groups with competing priorities and high ambiguity.
Process Innovation & Leadership
  • Lead the introduction of new processes or workflows to benefit teams, rolling them out in an iterative manner.
  • Build and maintain alignment across multiple teams to keep a focus on execution and operational excellence.
  • Coach and mentor others inside and outside of your project teams, guiding them on methods and procedures for complex assignments.
  • Collaborate with and influence senior leadership in situations without direct authority.
Minimum REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience: 10+ years of combined experience in technical program management roles, driving programs from inception to production in large-scale SaaS environments.
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong technical knowledge of various technologies and business units; ability to leverage domain knowledge to facilitate and debate technical solutions.
  • Lifecycle Leadership: Proven history of driving programs from code complete to General Availability (end-to-end "go to market" phases).
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication; experience effectively presenting to audiences ranging from individual engineers to C-level executives.
  • Education: Bachelors of Science in CS, MIS, or related technical degree. PMP or Agile certifications (CSM, CSPO) preferred.
