Position Title: Senior Electronics Engineer, ISR

Location: Portland, OR

Work Arrangement: On-site

Position Summary

DZYNE has an immediate need for a talented Senior Electronics Engineer who will serve as a technical owner and hands‑on contributor across the full lifecycle of DZYNE’s aircraft and launcher electrical systems. In this role, the engineer will perform circuit and subsystem design, system integration, troubleshooting, harness design, avionics/electronic system testing, and data analysis. This position reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager, while working directly with Vehicle Technical Leads and Program Managers.

Required Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead full PCB design cycle involving requirements, schematic design, component selection, supervision or completion of layout, bring‑up, functional verification, and performance tests
  • Design, develop, integrate, and debug avionics systems/subsystems
  • Develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses connecting systems within the air vehicle
  • Support design updates driven by product improvements, obsolescence, and evolving requirements
  • Conduct peer‑level and cross‑discipline design reviews
  • Work closely with cross‑functional engineering, manufacturing, and program teams to support new product development and active deployments in a fast‑paced environment
  • Mentor other engineers and promote sound engineering practices
Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated capability in complex circuit board design, bring‑up, signal/power integrity analysis, and validation
  • Proven experience in designing electronics from concept to functional prototype, including hardware selection, documentation, system level integration and troubleshooting
  • In‑depth understanding of Analog/Mixed‑signal, Digital, or RF circuit components
  • Detailed working knowledge of common test equipment, and CAD tools such as Altium
  • Excellent problem solving and planning skills
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
  • Experience in designing electronics for robotic and/or aircraft systems
  • Hands‑on experience with microcontrollers, common serial interfaces, high speed communication, and firmware/software integration
  • UAV experience highly desirable
  • Experience working in small to medium sized teams in a fast‑paced R&D environment
  • Familiarity with MIL‑spec hardware and harnessing
  • No Security Clearance is required, but it is highly desired
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

Working Conditions

The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, such as a general office environment, to warehouse and other facilities.

Physical Demands
  • Must have the ability to stoop, stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work.
Export Control / ITAR Requirement

This position requires access to information and technology subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As a result, employment is contingent upon meeting applicable export control eligibility requirements and compliance obligations.

Work Authorization Requirement

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 annually

Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high‑demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
