About This Role This position supports SecurTec's Finance and Accounting function from our West Palm Beach corporate headquarters. The Staff Accountant I plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records and reporting.
Position Summary The Staff Accountant I is responsible for performing day-to-day general accounting activities, including bookkeeping, payroll support, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to gain broad exposure across the full accounting cycle while contributing to a growing company.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general bookkeeping, including recording and posting journal entries
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of all financial transactions
  • Support payroll processing, including review, reconciliation, and related journal entries
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end close process, including accruals and adjusting entries
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audits
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports
  • Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and internal controls
  • Support the broader Finance team with ad hoc projects and analysis

Location This is a full-time, in-office position at SecurTec's corporate headquarters in West Palm Beach, FL. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, daytime.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting principles
