St. Barnabas Nursing Home is looking for experienced LPN's:

  • Salary Range: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
  • Job Type: Full Time, Part Time, or PRN
  • Shifts: 7a-7:30p or 7p-7:30a

What You Will Do:

  • Attend educational in-services as offered.
  • Undertake a specific practice only if the Licensed Practical Nurse has the necessary knowledge, preparation, experience and competency to properly execute the practice.
  • Respect and consider, while providing nursing care, the individual’s right to freedom from psychological and physical abuse.
  • Act to safeguard the patient from the incompetent, abusive or illegal practice of any individual.
  • Safeguard the patient’s dignity, the right to privacy and the confidentiality of patient information.
  • Document and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform all duties and tasks within the scope of practice.
  • Be responsible to know scope of practice. Have knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.
  • Have knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.
  • Possess the ability to deal with the public, residents and workers professionally and tactfully.
  • Be in good health and free of communicable disease.
  • Possess the ability to plan, organize, development, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc. of the Nursing Department.
  • Possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Be required to lift patients, medical equipment and supplies, etc.
  • Oversee patient care.
  • Be a patient advocate.
  • Support and adhere to the mission, philosophy and policies of St. Barnabas.
  • Work and be part of the Care Team.
  • Be knowledgeable of State and Federal regulations regarding long-term care.
  • Give superior customer service and respond to concerns readily.
  • Able to perform direct care when necessary for the health and safety of the residents.
  • Work in collaboration and adhere to directives, assignment of duties and responsibilities given by the DON, ADON and/or Charge Nurse.
  • Collects complete and ongoing data to determine nursing care needs.
  • Analyzes the health status of the individuals and families and compares the data with the norm when possible in determining nursing care needs.
  • Identifies goals and plans for nursing care.
  • Carries out nursing care actions which promote, maintain and restore the wellbeing of individuals.
  • Involves individuals and their families in their health promotion, maintenance and restoration.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the quality of nursing care provided.
  • The LPN administers medication and carries out the therapeutic treatment prescribed or ordered for the patient.
  • Intravenous therapy only if qualified and certified in IV therapy.
  • Oversees the direct management of the NA’s.

What You Will Bring:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Must have as a minimum, training in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility or other related medical facility.
  • Must be able to move at least 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (Sit/Stand)
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Must be able to Navigate and Move around the Facility to provide patient care.
