What You'll Do
  • Develop front-end SSD firmware features to meet product and customer requirements
  • Design, enhance, and maintain firmware supporting PCIe and NVMe protocols
  • Troubleshoot and resolve host interface and firmware-related issues
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective solutions
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to resolve technical challenges
  • Support SSD qualification, validation, and customer integration activities
  • Work directly with customers to address firmware, hardware, and platform issues
  • Analyze PCIe protocol traces and identify front-end performance bottlenecks
  • Partner with internal engineering teams to improve controller and firmware products
  • Participate in customer meetings as a technical advisor and subject matter expert
  • Advocate customer requirements and drive resolution across engineering teams
  • Support enterprise and data center customers throughout design-in and deployment activities
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of SSD firmware or storage applications engineering experience
  • Experience with SSD controller and firmware architecture
  • Strong understanding of PCIe and NVMe protocols
  • Experience debugging firmware issues involving power management, namespaces, MSI-X, SMBus, ARP, and NVMe commands
  • Ability to analyze PCIe protocol traces and perform root cause analysis
  • Experience in the SSD, HDD, storage systems, or related storage technology industry
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills
  • Experience with data structures and low-level firmware development
  • Hands-on experience using JTAG/ICE debuggers
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers
  • Experience with storage hardware platforms and peripherals
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux enterprise environments
  • Knowledge of SAS, SATA, PCIe, and NVMe storage technologies
  • Understanding of data center infrastructure including RAID controllers, HBAs, PCIe switches, expanders, and JBOD/JBOF architectures
  • Experience debugging Microsoft and Linux server environments
  • Mandarin language proficiency is a plus
