TCC Family Health:

TCC Family Health, founded in 1939, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), provides comprehensive, high quality health care and wellness services to those of all ages in the under resourced and underserved need in the greater Long Beach community. TCC is now a vibrant network of 14 clinic sites, including three school-based health centers, and one mobile medical clinic. Last year TCC served almost 40,000 patients through 175,000 medical, behavioral health, dental, optometry and wellness visits.

TCC is seeking mission driven individuals who deeply care about the communities we serve and want to join a creative, committed organization to address not only medical needs, but also social, emotional and economic barriers to contribute to improve health outcomes for all populations.

Mission: To provide innovative, integrated, quality health care that will contribute to a healthy community, focusing on those in need and working with patients and the community as partners in their overall well-being.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Use EMR to keep accurate records of patient’s current dental and medical history.
  2. Follows infection control protocol by preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
  3. Reviews patient's medical history, medications and proper patient identifiers
  4. Prepares patients for treatment and ensures patient is as comfortable as possible during dental procedures.
  5. Takes x-rays as needed and prepares materials for impressions and restorations.
  6. Communicates with both patient and dental provider of treatment plan during procedure.
  7. Maintains a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  8. Refers patient as needed (orthodontist, periodontist, endodontist and oral surgeon).
  9. Informs patients on pre- and post-operative procedures and provides oral health education.
  10. Schedule and confirm appointments, receive patients, keep treatment records, and monitor daily supplies for restocking.

Educational & Qualifications Requirements:

  1. Completion of high school or equivalent and 1 year of experience in a dental office setting preferred.
  2. Dental Assistant Certification REQUIRED
  3. X-ray certification REQUIRED
  4. Current CPR training
  5. Experience with EMR’s (EPIC, Dentrix & Dexis)
  6. Dental and medical terminology knowledge preferred
  7. Ability to prioritize while paying attention to detail.
  8. Collaborates with a wide variety of staff members to ensure daily patient care productivity goals are met.
  9. De-escalates challenging situations that may arise with patients and/or staff.
  10. Bilingual in Spanish/Khmer (strongly preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00- $23.50 per hour

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:30AM - 5:00PM

8 hour shift
