As a Hardware Design Engineer, you will contribute and drive the design, development, qualification, and life cycle sustaining of PCBA and System level hardware used in high performance Ethernet and Network communication test equipment products.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the design and development of PCBA/System level hardware design programs in the area of Ethernet and Network communication test platforms.
  • Collaborate with Managers and Architects in understanding/review of technical requirements for hardware product development.
  • Develop professional hardware documentation, specifications, and procedures.
  • Perform high-level design capture, implementation, hardware bring-up, integration, and validation of PCBA and system level hardware.
  • Provide accurate scoping of work and status of work to project management, development managers, cross functional teams, and related design teams.
  • Collaborate with CAD, NPI, and Mfg teams to deliver development hardware to production and to provide engineering support over the lifecycle of products.
  • Identify and track design issues and bugs. Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and deploy corrective actions.

Qualifications
  • BSEE+5yrs or MSEE+2yrs of experience in PCBA and system level design and development of networking hardware and digital communications systems.
  • Self-driven Individual with a team player mentality and high attention to detail who is capable of leading and driving actions in order to complete complex designs successfully.
  • Experience using Cadence Allegro PCB design suite and Orcad Schematic Capture tools (or equivalent) for use in the design of complex mixed signal PCBs
  • Knowledge/Exposure/Experience in all or some of the following areas:
    • System and PCBA level power management, power distribution, and thermal management systems.
    • Design of serial communications systems up to and exceeding 25G NRZ/PAM4.
    • developing and implementing designs using; High density FPGAs, Network processors, DDR3/DDR4 discrete designs, SRAM, PHYs, and retimers.
    • Signal Integrity Design and PCBA PI/SI simulation using tools like LTSpice, Hyperlinx, Sigrity, ADS, and HFSS.
    • General Analog design experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity/Experience with electronic tests equipment tools and best practices; DSOs, TDRs, Network analyzers, Logic analyzer, Spectrum analyzer, etc.
  • Desired experience with any of the following;
    • Ethernet standards in communication networks and their related hardware.
    • VHDL, C, Python, TCL, including general knowledge of programming tools and best practices
