Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Underwriting Assistant to support day-to-day servicing operations for our growing commercial lines portfolio. This role will work closely with underwriting, operations, and agency partners to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality service while supporting multi-line business. As the portfolio grows, the Senior Underwriting Assistant will help build and support a servicing team, contribute to process optimization and automation initiatives, and help ensure all servicing functions operate at a high standard. The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial insurance experience, preferably from the carrier or MGA side, with hands-on experience across multiple commercial lines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process post-bind servicing activities, including endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, and general policy maintenance, while ensuring timely and accurate customer service.
  • Manage renewal business, including reviewing exposures, loss history, and pricing for upcoming accounts, with the opportunity to earn renewal authority based on experience, quality, and performance.
  • Provide experienced multi-line support across commercial lines products, including General Liability, Business Auto, Property, Workers’ Compensation, Excess Liability, and related coverages.
  • Assist with operational projects, workflow improvements, and service initiatives to support the continued growth and expansion of the book of business.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for others, helping build a collaborative and service-oriented team environment.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, operations, and agency partners to improve service efficiency, communication, and turnaround times.
  • Maintain compliance with carrier guidelines, state regulations, and E&S servicing requirements while meeting established service standards and quality expectations.


Requirements:

 Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of multi-line commercial insurance experience within a carrier environment.
  • Strong experience handling post-bind servicing activities, including endorsements, renewals, cancellations, reinstatements, and general policy maintenance.
  • In-depth knowledge of General Liability, Business Auto, Commercial Property, and related lines.
  • Familiarity with the Excess & Surplus (E&S) market is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and build high-performance teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and customer service.
