Position Title: SENIOR SAFETY MANAGER 

Pay Grade: 16 

ESFM is the corporate facilities management (FM) division of Compass Group USA, a Gold-level Corporate Sustaining Partner of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), and a Platinum Corporate Member of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).

Job Summary

The Senior Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs to ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role promotes a strong safety culture across all operations, worksites, and field personnel while minimizing workplace risks and preventing incidents.

Location: Houston, TX 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain company safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments at field and office locations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor contractor and employee compliance with safety requirements.
  • Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee training sessions.
  • Track and report safety metrics, trends, and performance indicators.
  • Support emergency response planning and preparedness activities.
  • Collaborate with operations and management teams to promote continuous safety improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of safety management experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, HSE standards, and industry best practices.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CHST, or OHST preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% to field locations and work in demanding operational environments.
