Ameresco has an immediate opening for a Senior Project Manager Senior Project Managers are expected to operate independently, lead by example, and represent Ameresco professionally on active job sites, with clients, regulatory agencies, and subcontract partners. This is a permanent position with Ameresco and plays a key role in our continued growth and success in the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge of OSHA and WISHA construction safety requirements. Maintain OSHA 30 certification at minimum (OSHA 500 preferred or a demonstrated commitment to obtaining it).
  • Lead and enforce sitespecific safety plans, ensuring Ameresco and all subcontractors comply with required safety standards and documentation.
  • Manage full lifecycle execution of EPC and DesignBuild projects, including preconstruction services, construction phase oversight, and support of commissioning activities.
  • Supervise construction projects valued at $5M+, including S&C, MEP, ESP, lighting retrofits, central plant upgrades, BAS enhancements, PV and BESS installations, building envelope improvements, and industrial facility renovations.
  • Maintain consistent, effective communication with internal teams, subcontractors, clients, and inspectors to meet compliance and performance requirements.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and ongoing cost control strategies.
  • Build and maintain positive, longterm client relationships that support repeat work and program expansion.
  • Manage Procore documentation including RFIs, submittals, MDS documentation, daily reports, change orders, safety documentation, AHJ coordination, and closeout records.
  • Read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation across all project disciplines.
  • Coordinate general conditions and site requirements, including equipment rentals and site services.
  • Produce and distribute accurate daily reports, monitor subcontractor performance, and identify installation deficiencies.
  • Manage critical path schedules in Microsoft Project, including monthly updates and weekly threeweek lookahead schedules.
  • Coordinate permits, inspections, and thirdparty reviews as required.
  • Lead stakeholder meetings and generate clear, accurate meeting minutes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Project or Construction Management.
  • Proven history of successfully leading construction projects, including cost control, change management, critical path scheduling, and achieving substantial completion milestones on multimilliondollar MEP renovations.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of building systems including HVAC, lighting, controls, renewables, and water conservation technologies.
  • Proficiency with construction project management systems and scheduling tools.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing issued by the employee's state of residence is required.
  • Strong verbal, written, and technical communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CEM, CMVP, or LEED AP are preferred.
  • Experience working in publicsector MUSH markets (K12, higher education, municipal, and federal).
  • Knowledge of utility incentive programs and energy financing structures.
  • Experience with energy modeling, savings calculations, and measurement and verification protocols (IPMVP preferred).

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $121,000 - $194,000 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.

Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
