ABOUT US:ย 

Syufy Enterprises is a fast-growing, financially strong Marin-based entertainment and leisure company that owns a variety of businesses, including high-end athletic clubs and spas, restaurants, golf venues, shopping centers, public markets and drive-in theaters. Over the next several years, the company will be rapidly expanding all its brands and looking to invest in new brands.

POSITION SUMMARY:ย ย 

The Performance Analyst role is an opportunity to join a private Bay Area investment company, Pacific Marin Investments. The Performance Analyst reports to the Chief Investment Officer and is responsible for both investment operations functions and participating in the investment manager analysis.ย  The organization is responsible for the management of a significant asset base of private money.ย 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Independently verify performance of investment managers by using custodial data to calculate gross and net returns and additionally investigate and remedy variances.

  • Audit investment manager fees, including validation of incentive fees and high-water marks.
  • Evaluate appropriate benchmarks for managers and composites based on their stated investment style, holdings analysis and returns-based style analysis.
  • Help manage internal systems used for monitoring and reporting purposes, including the portfolio management system and multiple databases. ย 
  • Manage a variety of data, including capturing custodial, manager and product information accurately and in a timely manner. Identify issues, assist in reconciling differences, and report on findings. Raise areas of concern and propose solutions.
  • Facilitate manager searches by gathering data from RFP responses, communicating with prospective managers, and preparing quantitative manager analysis.
  • Help prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly investment reports to be provided to senior management.
  • Identify ways to continually improve activities, processes, operations, etc. for investment organization. ย Formulate recommendations. Assist in implementing and managing changes.ย 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Highly organized and a self-starter. Excellent team player. Focused yet flexible. Excellent judgment.ย 
    ย 
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, or internship experience. (Family office, endowment, wealth management, investment consulting is preferred.)
  • Comfortable handling sensitive information.ย 
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail and ability to work with large data sets.ย 
  • Knowledge of performance measurement concepts would be helpful.
  • Demonstrated skill in using independent judgment to solve problems and carry out assigned responsibilities, and ability to maintain client confidentiality.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe.
  • Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot in daily workflows.ย 
  • Experience with portfolio management, manager research software and investment accounting systems is a plus.
  • Experience with Bloomberg, MPI Stylus Pro, Morningstar, Black Diamond, and eVestment database is a plus.

  • Occasional bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 10 lbs
  • Frequent sitting and occasional standing, walking, reaching
