Job description

Senior Finance Manager | FP&A & Business Analytics

Lead Financial Strategy. Drive Business Decisions. Partner with Executive Leadership.

A growing consumer products organization is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to serve as a key business partner to executive leadership and play a critical role in shaping the company's financial strategy.

This position was created as part of a long-term succession planning initiative and offers significant visibility across the organization. The successful candidate will work directly with senior leadership to drive budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, business intelligence reporting, and strategic decision-making.

This opportunity is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys digging into data, influencing decisions, improving processes, and helping a business grow through strong financial leadership.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Direct partnership with executive leadership on strategic initiatives and business performance analysis
  • Opportunity to step into a highly visible role with long-term advancement potential
  • Blend of FP&A, business analytics, accounting, financial operations, and strategic planning
  • Significant ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling activities
  • Lead Power BI reporting and business intelligence initiatives that directly impact company performance
  • Opportunity to influence pricing, profitability, customer analytics, inventory, and operational decision-making
  • Well-established organization with nationally distributed products and a strong reputation for promoting talent internally
  • Collaborative, team-oriented culture where high performers can expand responsibilities and advance their careers

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning activities
  • Develop financial models and analytics that support strategic business decisions
  • Partner with leadership to analyze performance, identify trends, and recommend actions
  • Design and enhance Power BI dashboards, KPI reporting, and executive-level analytics
  • Analyze customer profitability, pricing strategies, margins, revenue trends, and business performance
  • Support month-end close, financial reporting, accruals, reconciliations, and operational finance activities
  • Develop and improve financial controls, policies, and standard operating procedures
  • Support inventory valuation, costing activities, audit requirements, and compliance initiatives
  • Present financial insights and recommendations to leaders across the organization

What We're Looking For

This is not a role for someone who simply prepares reports.

We are seeking a highly motivated finance professional who wants to influence decisions, improve processes, and become a trusted advisor to business leaders.

Successful candidates will have:

  • Strong budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Advanced FP&A, financial modeling, and analytical capabilities
  • Experience creating actionable business insights from financial and operational data
  • Advanced Power BI and Excel expertise
  • Strong understanding of accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to simplify complex financial information for non-financial leaders
  • A proactive, self-directed mindset and willingness to take ownership of critical initiatives

Preferred Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Progressive experience across FP&A, accounting, finance, and business analysis functions
  • Experience supporting executive leadership teams
  • Power BI expertise required
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus
  • Consumer products, manufacturing, distribution, or related industry experience is highly desirable

Long-Term Opportunity

This role was created with growth in mind. The organization is seeking a finance leader who can become a key business partner, expand responsibilities over time, and position themselves for future senior leadership opportunities. The role offers significant exposure to executive decision-making and a clear path for continued career advancement.
