Job description

Senior Events Manager
Location: Playa Vista, CA (in-person, 5 days/week)
The return lane isn't going to build itself. Come build it with us.
Outpost is an orbital logistics company rewriting the rules of global logistics by building reusable Earth-return vehicles that unlock in-space manufacturing, on-orbit warehousing, and 60-minute global through space delivery.
Our CarryAll vehicle family returns payloads from 200 kg up to 10 metric tons, then lands within 10 meters, gets refurbished, and launches again. One vehicle, many missions: responsive logistics and precision delivery for national security, in-space manufacturing, commercial cargo moved with real cadence, R&D payloads flown, tested, and refined across repeatable cycles, and critical aid delivered where roads and runways can't reach.
The demand is already here and validated through defense and civil agreements, with a growing pipeline of government and commercial customers.
We have the customers, the team, and a clear technical path in front of us. We're building the return lane. Come build it with us.
The Role
Outpost is hiring a Senior Events Manager to plan and execute high-impact internal and external events that build culture, deepen relationships, and reinforce our leadership in through-space logistics. You'll run multiple event programs end-to-end, ranging from employee engagement and HQ moments to customer/investor visits, media gatherings, and activations at key industry events.
This is a hands-on, detail-driven role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, technical environment, can manage vendors and budgets, and can lead calm, polished execution with senior stakeholders involved. This is not a sponsorship-coordination or event-attendance role. The successful candidate will have personally owned the physical, operational, and guest-facing production of company events and trade-show activations, including floor plans, production schedules, registration QA, vendor direction, on-site leadership, and post-event reconciliation.
Candidates should be comfortable reviewing measurements, layouts, production specifications, registration workflows, stage content, and branded environmental materials.
What You'll Do
  • Own event strategy: Own the events calendar including identifying, selecting, and planning for all internal and external events.
  • Own event execution end-to-end: timelines, budgets, vendor sourcing, contracts, logistics, travel, shipping, production schedules, and day-of operations
  • Run internal events: culture moments, holiday parties, team offsites/outings, ERG events, office openings, and employee engagement programming
  • Run external events: VIP/customer/investor visits, executive dinners, demos/showcases, media happy hours, and conference-side events
  • Manage trade shows & activations: booth logistics, on-site coordination, schedules, brand execution, and stakeholder meeting support
  • Cross-functional coordination: partner with Marketing/Comms, Business Development, Ops, IT, Facilities, Security, and leadership on programming, content, and run-of-show
  • Vendor + budget leadership: negotiate and manage suppliers (A/V, catering, production, exhibit houses), track spend, and deliver on-time within budget
  • Compliance-minded delivery: ensure events align with confidentiality requirements and any customer/government protocols (including export-control awareness where applicable)
  • Measure and improve: define KPIs, collect feedback, deliver post-event recaps, and build repeatable processes/templates

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years managing complex B2B events, trade shows, or experiential programs (in-house and/or agency)
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or other technical/regulated industries
  • Proven ability to run multiple events simultaneously with tight timelines and high attention to detail
  • Strong instincts for guest flow and experience design (space layout, run-of-show, A/V, food service, signage)
  • Strong project management, budgeting, and vendor management skills
  • Comfortable supporting senior leadership and VIP stakeholders with a high bar for polish and discretion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; highly organized and self-directed
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours during event weeks as needed
  • Ability to lawfully access information/technology subject to U.S. export controls

What success looks like: repeatable, well-run event programs that strengthen culture, improve stakeholder engagement, and make Outpost feel world-class, every time, on time, and on budget.
Compensation:
  • Competitive compensation: $125,000- $150,000; (commensurate with experience).
  • Additional Compensation: Annual performance-based bonuses that reward your impact.
  • Shared upside: Meaningful equity in Outpost so you share directly in the value you help create.
  • Comprehensive healthcare: Medical, dental, and vision coverage to keep you and your loved ones covered. We cover the base tier of medical insurance and all premiums of vision and dental.
  • Protection when it matters: Company-provided short- and long-term disability coverage for peace of mind, plus life insurance for even more security.
  • PTO: Recharge on your own terms with paid time off, plus 9 days of paid holidays.
  • Invest in your future: 401(k) with company match to help you build long-term wealth.
  • Fueled for the mission: Daily DoorDash lunch stipend, plus unlimited snacks, coffee, and tea to keep you energized.
  • Mission that matters: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with leaders from aerospace, new space, and deep-tech industries building the future of orbital infrastructure.
  • Pet Friendly Office: Bring your furry friend into the office so that they can be a part of our mission too.
  • Monthly Company Happy Hours and Events: Drinks at the local bar, hibachi nights, mini golfing and more!
