Job description

Our client, an iconic hotel property in the LA area is seeking a Senior Event Manager to join their dynamic Catering and Events team. This role is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of group and catering events, delivering exceptional service and memorable guest experiences in a fast-paced, luxury hotel environment.
The Senior Event Manager serves as the primary liaison between clients and hotel operations, overseeing events from contract turnover through on-site execution and post-event follow-up. This position plays a key leadership role within the Events team and supports departmental revenue and service goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage all assigned group and catering events from turnover to completion
• Serve as the primary client contact during the planning and execution phases
• Lead pre-event and pre-convention meetings to confirm all event details
• Prepare, distribute, and manage accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
• Coordinate with Food and Beverage, Culinary, Banquets, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and other operational teams
• Oversee on-site event execution, including setup, service, and breakdown
• Address and resolve client needs and operational issues in real time
• Identify and maximize revenue opportunities through upselling
• Review event billing, ensuring accuracy and timely reconciliation
• Maintain accurate records in catering and sales systems
• Support and mentor Event Services Managers and Coordinators as needed
• Participate in site tours, client meetings, and presentations
• Ensure all events comply with hotel policies, safety standards, and service expectations
Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 to 4 years of event management or catering experience, preferably in a full-service hotel
• Prior senior or leadership experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred
• Strong knowledge of catering, banquet operations, and event logistics
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Working knowledge of Delphi or similar catering systems preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
