Job Summary:
MDAEdge is a company seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator to develop and maintain corporate SQL Server databases, ensuring data integrity and security. The role involves administering enterprise-wide data architecture, managing daily operations, and providing 24x7 support for database systems.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Develop and maintain corporate SQL Server databases to ensure data integrity, security, retention, and recoverability.
โ€ข Design, build, test, and deploy database solutions aligned with project objectives and best practices.
โ€ข Administer enterprise-wide data architecture and implement complex data structures.
โ€ข Manage daily operations of corporate databases.
โ€ข Create and administer database objects to maximize availability, efficiency, and supportability.
โ€ข Perform database administration tasks (installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup, and recovery).
โ€ข Provide 24x7 rotational on-call support, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and preventative actions.
โ€ข Manage change processes across development, test, QA, and production environments.
โ€ข Proactively monitor databases and resolve issues.
โ€ข Optimize databases and T-SQL (performance tuning, query optimization).
โ€ข Participate in projects involving database enhancements and design decisions.
โ€ข Implement database security policies aligned with corporate standards.
โ€ข Evaluate patch releases and manage deployment timelines.

Qualifications:
Required:

โ€ข Expertise in SQL Server versions (2012โ€“2016); knowledge of 2019 & 2022 upgrades.
โ€ข Experience with database backups, ETL, and archiving using native SQL tools.
โ€ข Proficient in diagnostic tools (DBCC, SQL Profiler, third-party tools).
โ€ข Knowledge of partitioning architecture.
โ€ข Experience with BI tools (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, SharePoint).
โ€ข Strong T-SQL, PowerShell, and tuning/debugging skills.
