On-site Every Other Week onsite / 5 days in Salt Lake City, UT

Join our client as a Junior Oracle Database Administrator supporting mission-critical environments across development, test, and production. This is a hands-on production support role ideal for someone early in their DBA career who thrives in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and maintaining high-availability systems. You will work within a collaborative technology team responsible for managing database infrastructure that powers enterprise applications and cross-business workflows. The role includes participation in an on-call rotation.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $37.00 to $43.00/hr. w2


Responsibilities:
  • Provide frontline production database support across development, test, and production environments.
  • Perform application database administration for Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, and related platforms including SQL code review, performance analysis, query tuning, and physical data modeling.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues with attention to availability and performance.
  • Implement and support database technology infrastructure solutions with minimal direction.
  • Support data movement and replication strategies, including Oracle GoldenGate where applicable.
  • Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and application support engineers on cross-functional projects.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for 24/7 production enterprise support.
  • Contribute to CI/CD practices for database changes, versioning, and test automation.
  • Provide guidance on scalability, database growth, and recommendations for upgrades.

Experience Requirements:
  • 2 to 5 years of experience with Oracle database administration, preferably Oracle 19c, in high-availability environments.
  • Working experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Experience with scripting and Unix shell scripting; basic Python preferred.
  • Knowledge of Oracle connectivity components such as Sqlnet, listeners, scan listeners, and tnsnames.
  • Familiarity with public cloud environments, preferably AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with AWS database technologies, PostgreSQL, or Yugabyte is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment and issue management.

Education Requirements:

BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent experience.
