Job description

About the Roleย 

iCapital is looking to hire a Manager for DevOps and DBA Engineering Manager to join the Annuities Platform team. This role is responsible for leading the strategy, design, and execution of DevOps practices and database platform operations supporting enterprise SaaS solutions. This role owns CI/CD pipelines and SQL Server database systems to ensure high availability, scalability, performance, and security across production and non-production environments. As a Technical Manager, this position not only leads and develops a team of DevOps Engineers and Database Administrators but is also the technical SME and expected to maintain Databases and manage the deployment pipelines. This individual reports to the Director of Enterprise Technology and partners closely with the Engineering, Architecture, Security, and Product teams, and is accountable for the reliability, automation, and operational excellence of the platforms.ย 

Responsibilities ย 

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of DevOps Engineers and Database Administrators, including hiring, performance management, mentoring, and career development.ย ย 
  • Define and execute the DevOps and DBA roadmap aligned to product and platform strategy.ย ย 
  • Own the design, reliability, and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) supporting automated build, test, release, and rollback for allย (Hexureย now part ofย iCapital)ย SaaS products.ย 
  • Own SQL Server database operations across production and non-production environments,ย including performance tuning, indexing, capacity planning, patching cadence,ย backupย andย recovery (RTO/RPO), andย alwaysย on high-availability and disaster recovery.ย 
  • Participate in incident response for infrastructure and database events, including on-call rotation, post-incident reviews, and corrective-action follow-through.ย 
  • Partner with the Security team to embedย DevSecOpsย practices,ย secretsย management, vulnerability scanning, dependency hygiene, and compliance with SOC 2 and other applicable frameworks.ย 
  • Partner with the Senior Cloud Engineers and Director to manage cloud spend and FinOps practices in Azure; trackย utilization, right-size workloads, and report cost trends to leadership.ย 
  • Establish andย maintainย operational documentation,ย change-managementย discipline, and audit-ready evidence for internal and external reviews.ย 
  • Collaborateย with theย Architecture, Engineering, Product, and Client Servicesย teamsย to plan releases, capacity, and platform improvements that support business growth.ย 
  • Continuously improve automation, observability, and self-service capabilities to reduce toil and accelerate delivery.ย 

Qualificationsย 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science information systems engineering or related field or equivalent experienceย 
  • 8+ yearsย DevOps cloudย SREย or infrastructure engineering supportingย PaaSย andย SaaSย platformsย 
  • 2+ years people management experience leadingย DevOpsย SREย orย DBAย teams including hiring performance and career developmentย 
  • Experience withย Microsoftย Azure includingย IaaSย PaaSย networkingย Entraย IDย andย Azureย SQLย 
  • Deep experience designing and operating ci cd pipelines azureย DevOpsย GitHubย actions or similar across multi environmentย SaaSย deploymentsย 
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management at scaleย 
  • Strongย SQLย server administration including performance tuningย HA/DRย always on replication log shipping backup and security plus other database modelsย 
  • Working knowledge of dockerย Kubernetesย AKSย 
  • Experience with monitoring logging and alerting using platforms likeย Dynatrace,ย Datadog,ย Azureย toย monitorย application insightsย 
  • Experience working within compliance frameworks like soc 2 iso 27001 or similarย

Benefitsย 

The base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $180,000. iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
