Our top direct client is looking for a Database Consultant

The client is a Fortune 50 multi-billion dollar revenue generating organization with a spectrum of products and services throughout major operating businesses

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure performance, scalability, security, and availability of MySQL databases.
  • Prepare documentation, best practices, and specifications.
  • Work as an expert on MySQL implementation and design
  • Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary
  • Provide guidance and expertise on tuning MySQL implementation
  • Help engineering teams migrate from Oracle to MySQL.
Qualifications

Tools/skills:

  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git / SVN
  • E/R Diagramming tools
  • MySQL Workbench

Must Have Skills:

  • Proficiency in MySQL database management, minimum 5 years.
  • Experience with recent versions of MySQL
  • Understanding of MySQL's underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and RocksDB
  • Experience with replication configuration in MySQL
  • Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL
  • Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
  • Knowledge of MySQL features, such as its event scheduler
  • Experience on architecting and designing MySQL databases
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
  • Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases
