Job description

Summary Job Description:
This position is responsible for shadowing an experienced sprayer during a six month trainee program.
Essential Duties:
  • Ability to learn to spray even coats of finish, stain, paint, or lacquer on assembled cases.
  • Visually inspect for runs of material
  • Learn to fill and adjust equipment as needed
  • Learn to read formulas and color panels
  • Loads the line by pulling material from Whitewood Storage area to conveyor and loading in assigned order.
  • Occasionally attaching tall cases and bed frames to pallets
  • Observes plant safety rules while also keeping work area clean and is quality conscious in performing duties.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by Supervisor

Position Requirements
On completion of six month program, this position should be able to meet the following requirements:
  • Read and understand finishing schedule
  • Have the ability to set up finishing equipment 'pumps'
  • Have the ability to spray fillers, glazes, and wash coat all at a quality level.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands and work environment expectations described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, climb, stoop, twist, push, pull and bend over the course of 8 hours
  • Must be able to step up and down on conveyor. Must be able to climb up and down a ladder. Must be able to bend and stoop to spray under tables and cases.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, up to 100 pounds with assistance.
